Our 5 Highlights from the WOW Summit ’17
Moms come to the WOW Summit to connect, gain inspiration, and learn about products and practices that they can take home to their families to live happier, healthier lives. As for this past weekend’s Moms Meet WOW Summit in Itasca, Illinois, it’s safe to say—mission accomplished. The 2017 WOW Summit brought together hundreds of moms and mom bloggers with almost 50 brands and an impressive speaker lineup that will be hard to beat next year. While we decompress from the Mom event of the year, let’s take a look back at five highlights from this year’s WOW Summit.
1. The Invaluable Connections Made During Blogger-to-Brand Networking
The new format of this invite-only event allowed established bloggers a chance to pitch themselves to better-for-you brands, giving both sides a chance to form lasting relationships. With a clear focus and format, this professional speed networking experience cut through all the red tape that may otherwise get in the way of making meaningful connections in the real world. The gathering allowed brands and bloggers to put a face with a name in a relaxed environment, offering precious personal connection in an industry where it’s easy to get overlooked.
2. A Darn Good Meal at the table5 Pizza Party
The table5 pizza crew not only brought the delicious pizza for our Blogger-to-Blogger Networking Lunch, but they also brought the fun and carried the good times through the whole weekend. Their crispy and craveable cornmeal crust pizza was a huge hit with all who grabbed a slice or two (or three!) at Friday’s lunch. Luckily, for all those wanting more, table5 continued the party in Exhibit Hall all weekend, where they served up tasty pie after tasty pie to hungry attendees.
3. Acknowledgement and Camaraderie at the Balancing Work and Motherhood Panel
Full of accomplished female professionals, including our own CEO Maxine Wolf, this panel broke down the barriers between the corporate and parenting worlds to share the truths that many working mothers face. It would be impossible to leave this talk without feeling supported, connected, and reinvigorated to take on all that motherhood and a career ask of you.
4. The Energy Levels in Exhibit Hall Were Through the Roof
This space was full of life and laughter from the moment it opened on Friday till the time the last vendor left on Saturday. The community spirit, together with friendly brand reps, and an abundance of free samples, elevated the energy of the Exhibit Hall beyond what normally transpires at trade shows. It was apparent from your first step into the pavilion that both brands and moms were thoroughly enjoying each other’s company.
5. The Expert Insight Shared Through the Blogger Workshops
These workshops, focused solely on educating and empowering new and established bloggers, offered that and so much more. From hearing from an affiliate marketing expert, to learning how to work with brands from an industry insider, the talent and lessons shared were top notch.
